K3DSPUPGD Swap out upgrade of your Pre-Rev D assembly DSP boards to a DSP board modified to Rev D.  (Rev D already ships on all new K3s.) Improves low freq RX/TX audio response below 300 Hz, and adds a Low Pass Filter (LPF) that rolls off RX audio above 4 kHz. This is a fully tested and warranted upgraded board based on an exchange DSP.

Note: The main K3 DSP board handles RX audio amplification for both the main and sub RX.  No change is needed for the AUXDSP board used with the sub-receiver.

IMPORTANT: Your old K3 DSP board must be returned within 2-3 weeks of receipt of the upgrade to avoid being charged for the full DSP board replacement cost.  DSP board must be in working and good cosmetic condition without visible damage. Also, your DSP must be returned in the same anti-static packaging used to ship the upgrade DSP to you and the same or equivalent shipping box and packaging material to insure it is not damaged. Damaged or inoperative return DSPs will not be applicable for credit and the full DSP price will be charged for the replacement.

All new K3s ship with the latest DSP board.

Based on current backlog, there is approximately a 4 week shipping lead time for this swap out.

Tuning linearity is much improved with the new F/W.

Replaces L33 in the BFO oscillator with a new prewound 41uH toroidal inductor that has a  more temperature stable core. Replaces the two 12.096 crystals in the PLL ref. osc. with a single crystal for better temperature stability.

Improves BFO temperature stability on older K2s (less than s/n 3000.)  Also improves SSB carrier rejection on older K2s that had a solenoidal inductor at L33.

K2 Revision A to B Upgrade 
The mod kits listed below will upgrade an existing, BUILT, Revision A (or Field Test Rev.  XC) K2 to one equivalent to Revision B. (The revision number refers to the PC board revision.)

We recommend that you download the K2 A to B Upgrade Instructions to review all of the changes before deciding which mod kits to purchase, as some of them are optional, and you may have installed some of them previously.
