K3 Programmer's Reference - Notes to Pre-Release Document
1. The K3 will emulate most K2 commands. A notable exception is the original
K2 "SW;" command, which has been replaced with "SWT;" and
"SWH;" (tap/hold) commands for the K3. Important additions include
"TT;" (text-to-terminal), "AG;" (AF gain), "RG;"
(RF gain). See full list on page 1.
2. To get to K3 menu entries, use the new "MN;" command. To read and
set the four multifunction controls, you'll need the new "FN;"
command, which is not implemented yet.
3. To read the contents of the displays, use "DB;" (new) and
"DS;". The latter is at present only a very incomplete emulation of
the K2's original "DS;" command. I'll be updating it to reflect all K3
icons accurately.
4. The K3 responds much faster than the K2, and can be used at up to 38.4 kb. A
number of commands that could not be read in TX mode in the K2 don't have this
restriction in the K3.
5. This draft has many errors and omissions, but it's the best we can do until
we get a break from firmware and manual duties.
