Soapbox:

KN7T - Equipment:  K3 S/N 1371, Hexbeam @ 40 feet, double bazooka @ 40 feet

KB0YH - Gus  K3 compression at 20 gave good punch. Received many audio compliments.   Tried 15m and 10m several times, but no joy.  10 watts doesn't cut it on 80/160m, but did manage to make a few regional contacts.  The Elecraft name was only confused with Hallicrafters once this year!  Some of the suggested frequencies are problematic (Examples: broadcast on 40m, the "Radio Canada " mouth that roars on 20m), so we might want to make changes for future EQP events.  I hope you all had a fun EQP.

KD0R - David   I was working on building my K2 so mostly I was listening on 160 and soldering. Rig FT-890 @ 5 W CW  Thanks guys for putting up with my lousy fist. See you all next time with my own Elecraft serial number.  73 de KD0R David

W3TMZ  - Jack   What fun, 40 meters was the money band.   Look forward to a future EQP. 73 Jack, W3TMZ

N1NN - Roger   Ten-Tec Pegasus with N4PY program software, Antenna: Barker & Williamson BWD-20 14-54mhz (continuous) wide band folded dipole, Tuner: MFJ-969 roller inductor, Elecraft stations worked: 7.

KL7IKV - Lynn Thank you for running this QSO party; I enjoyed it. Only had propagation here after about 1900z  - nothing before that hour. 20 meters died about 0015z and only heard/worked two people on 40 Saturday night. Nothing heard on Sunday. The patience of all was appreciated here.

NZ8J - Tim Had a great time, worked many more K3's than other Elecraft rigs.  Looking forward to the next one.

KM5Q – Windy   I'm generally not a contester, but I felt this one would be special.  It was a delightful introduction to QRP, and a great operating exercise.  Suggestion: If part of the exchange would be "power output", it would be more interesting.  Thank you! Windy

AB9V – Mike   A pretty relaxed contest compared to others I've participated in the
past 3 months. I even got some sleep!

AI3G – Doug    Fun contest.  What a surprise to work west coast with only 3 or 4 watts.   Strongest
station heard was W1SOC in Florida .

N4SAM - Sam   Great fun!  Conditions were good.  High light was working AK=KL7IKV.  Thanks Elecraft.

K4VNJ – Joe   Operating time very limited. Fun! Thanks Elecraft.

K9IL - BOB My K3 #2626 confused a few but other wise great fun. My 1st Elecraft QSO Party.

SP3VZY  Greg  Very poor open for  US - EU  in 20 m band  . Station in EU not working in 40 m band  and 80m band in night , but  very happy times.

W6HPK - Steve   Screwdriver antenna mounted on car port. Not much time on, which should be obvious by the score, but nevertheless, fun. 73

N7KRT – Jeff   Good fun!

K2HYD – Ray   EQP was just what I needed to make a bunch of contacts with my KX-1 - almost as good as having the sunspots back! 21 Q's and there were only 3 stations that I heard that didn't answer me.

WA3UCR – Bill   Well, not exactly a stellar performance on my part; but I had fun in the limited time I had to operate. Worked mostly 20 meters and a couple on 40. One DX, DJ8EW with a killer signal here from his K2 . Between working, and my XYL recovering from sinus surgery, sure put a damper on the festivities, but it was a blast for the short time I had to operate. Already looking forward to EQP 2010.

W7GB – Don   Hi Guys - I had a great time in the EQP. Many thanks for doing this. I'm running a K1 and it got a bit lonesome. Out of 40 contacts, only 3 were K1s. Lots of K3s out there. I'm planning on getting a K3 too but am hoping you guys will be at SeaPac (Seaside, Oregon) in June so I can save $$$ on sales tax (8% here in WA, 0% in Oregon). Here's the rundown on my scoring. Again, many thanks!

KF0F - Ken   K3, 80m dipole w/ ladder line, and straight key. Thanks to the guys that QRS.

W0PQ - Dave   Worked Saturday evening on 40M , Sunday on 20M.  Conditions were good.  Few weak stations.  Started out by search and pounce, later called CQ EQP.

K1ESE -  That was a fun, low key QSO party.  Fair activity.  W1SOC Bob must have worked the whole 24 hours and always had a good signal, especially on 40M.  Worked N6KR, TNX WAYNE!!

WA1ABI - John    Very enjoyable event. The K3 is a superb contest radio.  Best DX:  S51TJ in Slovenia Thanks for both. 73

WA1Z – Bob    Just operated on 20 for a short time on Saturday afternoon using a full-wave Delta Loop with the apex at 50'

VE7YU – Gordon   Very little time to operate this weekend.  Set up Ham Radio Deluxe to scan all the QP freqs. and turned up the AF gain.  If I heard any CQs while passing by the shack, I took a few minutes to work them.  How about two EQPs per year ??

WA8ASN – Mike   First time contester and had fun meeting other Elecraft owners, Hope to do better next year.

WB5BKL – Nick   It was pleasant to work QRP in a contest where you had an excellent chance that you would be heard.  In other contests, I would swear that some hams must still be using Knight- Kit Ocean Hoppers...Had fun.

KS7D – Mike  This was my first EQP and it was very enjoyable. I am not a contest guy just doing it for fun.  The rig used was my K2 serial number 4443. Unfortunately, my K3 is in transit to Aptos for repairs.

KJ4AOM – Ray   Great Fun.......got a late start. Trying to work a K3 into my 3/30 birthday!!!!

PA0RBO – Rob   Due to other commitments took part only for a few hours on Sunday afternoon on 20 m.  Worked only 3 USA stations. No European activity heard on this side.   Condx  moderate, 10/15 m closed over here, no signals heard.  73/72, Rob, PA0RBO

W1SOC - Bob   I was disappointed to see that the rules I wrote two years ago for Elecraft had been changed resulting in  neither NA nor N1MM Loggers being able to correctly score the contest.  This resulted in a lot of post-contest drudgery to determine the correct score.  Participation was excellent!  I hope Elecraft will continue to sponsor this sprint.

PF5X – Enno  There were many other contests this weekend making it hard to draw attention to the EQP. Conditions were not favourable at all. Nevertheless it was fun to engage with colleague Elecrafters. Let's hope that in the future solar activity will support this event to a better level. Thanks to those who responded to my many CQs.

JA1NLX – Aki   Worked 9 Ws and 1 KL7 in 20m/CW. They all used K3 !!!

NK6A – Don   K3's were out in force for the EQP.  I kept checking SSB but never heard anyone.  All CW.

W1QK – Dan   I enjoyed operating my first Elecraft QSO Party with my new K3. My serial number is 683 and I was pleased to work many other K3 owners... in fact the lowest K3 serial number I worked was K0FHG with number 52. Also worked W1SOC with 65 and WS2E with 77! Wow. Thanks for making and supporting an excellent product.

PA7F – Frank   Participation across the Atlantic was very low, but condx didn't help.

W1TF – Ty   Missed Eric and Wayne, but must have worked rigs that they had contacted.  At least the K3's Mojo must have been recharged.  Lets do this again next year.

N0EVH – John   Camped at Weston Bend State Park for the weekend with 135 foot doublet in the trees atop the highest spot in the campground.  Running gelcell battery maintained by 15-watt solar panel.  Had a great time on 80, 40 and 20 meters running into old and new friends.  Good bands, good friends ... hard to beat.  Thanks for the event and a marvelous radio design.

NI0C – Chuck   Had limited time for operating as we were packing for a Spring Break vacation trip, leaving early Sunday morning.  All but one of the stations I worked was using a K3.

W0UY – Tom   My first EQP and it was a lot of fun.  Interesting to hear so many low serial number radios in the contest.  Looking forward to participating again.

DJ8EW – Lothar  Its my first time I participated the EQP.

K9MMS – Gary  My first time in an EQP.  Family activities limited operating time to 5 hours – Saturday only.  It was a nice surprise to have Wayne / N6KR, KH7C, EA1SBU, and EA8TL answer my CQs on 20 meters.  I did not hear Eric.  Activity seemed almost nil later on Saturday night.  I was surprised to find no EQP activity on 160 meters when I checked Saturday night.

It was interesting to see the locations of some of the various Elecraft radios and the range of serial numbers.  I hope to have more time available for the next EQP.  It would be nice if more than one EQP would be held each year.  I checked several times last year, but I could never find information about an EQP for 2008.  Thanks for the QSOs.

F6EPO  Dom  I took a great pleasure to attend my first EQP.  Many people heard us QRP, but here no directive antenna. Looking forward to another contact in 2010.

W6RA – Randy   Used K3 #2171 put together last fall, my first Elecraft rig.  Ran 100w into a 135' cf zepp at 75'.  Lots of FB ops so contest was fun.  Couldn't find anyone to work on SSB, oh shucks

NS7P – Phil  This was my first EQP.  I had a good time over the few hours that I worked.  SSB Elecrafters were nearly non-existent from here in Oregon.

N6KR – Wayne   Nice to hear so many new Elecraft customers in EQP this year. I even ventured up to 7277 kHz and had an SSB EQP contact -- a first.

K6XX – Bob   Tried to pick up somebody, anybody, on 15m, but no EQP participants heard or worked. "Swept" all rigs: KX1, K1, K2, K3 all logged.

K7SJ – Roger   I hope I got all your soapbox comments recorded fellows, it is quite the cut and paste exercise from all the various submittal formats!!  Ditto for the scoring, some were quite creative.  If I interpreted your data incorrectly, I apologize; I will try to do better next year!  I had quite a run of guys calling me towards the end of the contest time period, I felt like the DX station!!  Great fun…your EQP scoring guy.
