BUILDER ALERT #8: Change to SSB adapter for VOX use
Wed, 20 Oct 1999
APPLICABILITY: Revision B SSB adapter PC board only.
DESCRIPTION: This change affects VOX mode only. In the case of the rev. B SSB PC board, the K2 may remain in transmit in VOX mode even after the VOX delay has expired. This is due to increased capacitive load on the /PTT line.
WHAT TO DO: If you have the rev. B SSB PC board, you'll need to add a 10 K resistor between pins 1 and 6 of the 16C72. Solder this resistor on the bottom of the board, using short leads. Some early SSB adapter kits were shipped without this 10 K resistor. If you have one of these kits, you can either request a 10 K resistor from Elecraft or use any value from 10 K to 15 K that you may have available.
The rev. C board has a location for this new resistor (R16).
